A big thank you and HUGS to all of my volunteers to help me run one of the best Chapters in the Nation and to those that are helping our Chapter put on the NARI National Spring Business Conference at The Wyndham in Phoenix, April 7 - 10th.

On the fence about volunteering? No need to be shy. Commit what you can. Please know that we appreciate any hour or two you can give to our organization. We are only as strong as the breadth and depth of our volunteer base.

In the interim, I simply ask your patience (and of course your professional assistance) to help our Chapter achieve much deserved success in hosting this gigantic National Spring Conference and continue the professional development of our members and colleagues in the days and weeks to come.

About our Host - Cholla Custom Cabinets

After the resounding record setting attendance they had from last April's meeting, the team at Cholla Custom Cabinets, Inc. wants to say "Welcome Back"! Cholla Custom Cabinets, Inc. has been a valley leader in providing the building community with quality cabinetry for more than forty years. As specialists in the art of custom cabinetry, they recognize the value and remodel education that a membership with NARI provides. They are honored to host the Greater Phoenix NARI Chapter meeting at their updated showroom and manufacturing facility on Wednesday, April 14th, from 5:45pm - 8:00pm.

Cholla Cabinets is a full-service custom cabinet manufacturer producing both Frameless European style cabinetry and traditional Frame style cabinets utilizing the latest techniques in manufacturing technology. Through initial hands-on computer design and layout communicated directly to CNC equipment, the customer is able to visualize their cabinet dreams. To further differentiate their finished product they use an automated oven-baked conversion varnish finish. This top of the line finish provides the highest level of quality produced on cabinets today.

To meet the needs of any commercial and/or residential builder or remodeler, Cholla also distributes three manufactured lines of cabinets to complement their own custom product as well. All of these options are handled by Cholla's own installation, service and warranty departments and employees.

NARI members are encouraged to bring their employees, subcontractors, distributors and suppliers as guests to this event.

It is time to tell you about some of the people who make our Chapter the success it is. This is not a complete list by any means -- just a few people you should know about. They have stepped up, gotten involved and volunteered to be committee chairs.

Patrick Benkowski, CR- Website Chair - The website that we have represents the hours and hours time given willingly so we can have this wonderful web presence. If you know about websites you know what I mean.
Steve Shinn GCP - Education Committee - Where would we be without Steve? He single handedly brought us the EPA mandated Lead Training Certification Classes.
Steve Deubel - Home Show Committee - The home show is an important way for the public to know about NARI. You will see many changes to our booth & image at the upcoming home show.

Shawn Marie Ward - Marketing Chair - Talk about a behind the scenes committee. It takes a lot of time and persistence to tell the community about Greater Phoenix NARI.
Sean Monaghan - Ambassadors Committee - Never feel like you are on your own when you come to our meetings. Someone from this committee is available to partner with.
Katie Evans - Membership Chair - With Katie heading this committee our membership will just increase but become even stronger. She is going to need volunteers on this committee so don't be surprised to be asked to help.
I encourage you to become involved. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it is a great way to get to know the members and help keep the Greater Phoenix Chapter interesting and worth being part of.

Thermador to Host April 8th Event at BSH Home Appliances in Conjunction with NARI National Spring Business Conference

If you recall, GP NARI had one of the most memorable meetings in September 2009 when Thermador and the professionals at BSH Home Appliances hosted our 5 Star Chapter Meeting with live cooking demo's and unbelievable appetizers in a superb setting.

We'd like to thank Ric Coggins and Dan Schaller, along with Amber Carlson for putting together another fantastic event on Thursday, April 8th from 6pm until 7:30pm this time in conjunction with our NARI National Spring Business Conference.

Greater Phoenix NARI EPA Lead Training - Sign up now!

April 15 & 16, 2010

The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule will become fully effective and enforceable on April 22, 2010. The Rule applies to all "renovations," including many typical remodeling activities, performed for "compensation" in pre-1978 "target housing" and pre-1978 "child-occupied facilities" when the work will disturb paint, stain, shellac and varnish that has not been tested and certified as being lead free. NARI is offering these classes for just $250 each. Classes will be held at the Quality Inn in Phoenix and they are filling up quickly as compliance is due. There are NO payments at the door. Classes are filled on a first come first payment received basis.
