Originally this message was just going to be about volunteers in the Chapter but it was essential to write about the NARI National Convention that was held here in Phoenix April 7th - 10th beginning with a golf tournament benefiting NARI Foundation which Kyle King, of Durafoam helped organize.

If you were able to attend any of the 2 1/2 days of committee meetings, you were able to get a real sense of what NARI National is doing with us and for us. After attending, I am personally inspired by all of the information that was presented and by what is available to NARI members on an ongoing basis. This convention would not have been possible if it hadn't been for the many volunteers who gave their time and talents to this event. I will not name you as there are far too many to thank.

Special thanks to Thermador for delivering the sightseeing buses and rides followed by a spectauclar chef reception of delicious appetizers and assorted beverages at BSH Home Appliances on Thursday evening. Congratuions to the team including Rick Coggins. Dan Schaller and Amber Carlson and their entire staff. Outstanding.

Back at the hotel, Friday evening's outdoor President's reception was a success due to fabulous weather and the authentic music by the Mariachi band sponsored by our local Pella team.

Other companies that stepped up to make the theme "Go Green & Think Pink" possible: NY Design Build Inc., Ferguson Bath Kitchen & Lighting Gallery, Kirk Development Company and Legacy Design Build Remodeling.

Personally, I have to thank my Board for embracing Jetta's idea of going green & thinking pink -Dee Larson & Stephanie MacPhail made a few calls to Susan G. Komen and from there we were off and running. Lori Asher loaded up her truck, Gary Wheat CAPS CR made his way with an agenda as long as the Magna Carta and simply knotted all the many loose ends and was a complete pleasure to work with. In order not to offend anyone, we are looking at a way to capture our volunteers who helped and put them on our website. Good news! We were told we raised the bar higher than any other Chapter. Cheers!

A great recap at the end of the Evening of Excellence night was with two members from the Milwaukee Chapter who did not want to end the night, even with the time change. In the end it was loads of laughs, no shop talk and a recap of how much fun it is to work with quality people who serve as invaluable resources.
