President's Message
Brian Puglisi CR
President, NY Design Build
Inc.
Dear Friends and
Colleagues:
It seems like this summer has
flown by quickly. Good news for us as the fall
season is here and we have a great deal
to look forward to. Our industry really
comes alive in the fall. We have seen a lot more
interest in remodeling than we have all year. I
am looking forward to a really strong fourth
quarter.
With fall on my mind, it
is CotY time once again - NARI's prestigious
Contractor of the Year (CotY). The 2010
competition is taking on a new dynamic. Our
illustrious CotY committee has raised the bar.
Brian Young and George Brunell CR are
hosting classes on how to make your entry stand
out. Brian Young serves on the NARI National
CotY Committee and has gained a wealth of
knowledge on what and what NOT to do with your
entries. George Brunell CR with AFS
Building Group has has won many local
CotY awards and this past year, won best of
show! I encourage you to take advantage of this
opportunity as it may just win you a
national CotY award. I think it would be great
to win a bunch of national CotY awards at the
Evening of Excellence.
September also brings us
our golf outing -- one of my favorite NARI
events. If you need to justify the expense for
this event, why not bring a client you are
trying to win over? You can write it off as a
business expense and gain a few hours with your
prospect and have a great time and maybe win
some prizes!
I am proud to announce
that the NARI National Spring Meeting will be
here in Phoenix, April 7 - 10, 2010. Gary Wheat,
CAPS CR will be Chairing this important
committee. He will need a number of volunteers
to make the conference a huge success so we are
counting on all of you.
Let us all have a successful
September.

What is a Systems
Integrator?
New NARI Member,
Components Electronioc Systems,
LLC recently celebrated their 5 year
anniversary as a Systems Integrator. Just what
is a Systems Integrator? They design, sell and
install complete home and business systems that
address security, communication, entertainment
and lighting and environmental control needs--
all with simplified and intuitive controls.
One example -- they make it
possible for a person to turn off all lighting
and audio/video equipment, set back thermostats
and arm the security system with a single button
press as the home owners head to work in the
morning. They are also great at automating tasks
that not only provide great convenience but help
to conserve energy.
Whether it is a dedicated
home theater, a complete custom home, or a
corporate office, Compenents Electronic Systems
can bring it all together for you. For details
contact either Jason or Doug Evans at
480-361-9500 or at Jason@componentsaz.com or
Doug@componentsaz.com.
Components is a family owned
and operated business. Doug and Heather and
Jason and Katie share similar likes and hobbies.
Both Evans' enjoy outdoor activies including
camping and hunting. All enjoy NASCAR. Jason

those never ending home improvement
projects! |
 Small to Medium Business
Owners Juggling Increased Tasks &
Responsibilities
Imagine not having to worry
about the details of HR tasks like remitting
payroll taxes (on time), managing benefits and
workers compensation invoices, enduring
government audits, calculating payroll checks,
printing, W-2s, filing I-9s, answering
unemployment inquiries and host of other
employee-related tasks.
If
you are like most NARI business owners you
manage the day-to-day operations, help close new
sales, create marketing plans and materials, run
reports, check financials and cash flow, take
care of client complaints and follow up on
leads - then you help with the kids homework,
coach soccer or baseball, help
with the housework, visit with your parents
and in-laws, mow the lawn, etc. etc. etc.
Imagine, having the time to accomplish all of
this without losing control of your
business.
New NARI member,
Creative Business Resources
(CBR) develops customized HR outsourcing
packages for you based on the type of workforce
you have and the needs of your business. They
understand that the stresses of business owners
are not unique but the people who own them
are.
Jeff Jamieson, comes from a
family of business owners and has 9 years
experience in HR outsourcing. For more
information, contact Jeff at 602-200-8500, ext.
2031 or at Jjamieson@cbri.com.
