Susan Stein Kregar,

Chapter Director

Dear (Contact First Name),

Greater Phoenix NARI Chapter is ending the summer with rocking bang!

Thank your to our August host, Arizona Wholesale Supply for a fantasicaly tasty meal! Seriously, I could have pulled up my chair and fork to the buffet table and had a ball. But, that would not have made the best first impression. So I resisted. Maybe next time.

Please take a moment to read this month's edition of the Arizona Remodeler for the lastest news and events coming down the pipeline.

Cheers!

Susan Stein Kregar

Chapter Director, your Greater Phoenix NARI Chapter

Thank you again to our
August Meeting Host

President's Message
SteveSteve Shinn GCP, UDCR
Homework Remodels

I would like to thank everyone who attend our meeting at Arizona Wholesale for helping make our event a great success. Arizona Wholesale has always been a great host for our meetings and this one was no exception.

I spoke about two things at our meeting that I want to bring up again due to their importance. Most of you already know that our Board of Directors has taken a proactive position as far as developing our NARI chapter into an organization that is financially stable and offers value to our members.

Our board is supported by the invaluable council of a number of our past Presidents. All of us continue to be grateful for their continued insight.

Our Board is currently led by myself as President,  Steve Lenzmeier as first VP, Mike Daniel as VP  and Julie Cook as Chairman of the Board. One of our primary directives at this time is to bring new life and direction to our group by adding new members to the board that can support our efforts in creating more value for all of our members. This position does not require a major time commitment or past board experience. It will involve some creative thought and a team effort with our board to help create more of the value that we all want to see in our organization.

I would like to invite you to be part of the solution that we are creating. Our Board meetings start by 4pm before our monthly chapter meeting. The meetings are open to our members and guests. Join us at our next board meeting to see if it feels like a way you could make a contribution, and gain value from.

The second thing that will create value for you and our entire organization is a special exploratory committee that we are forming. We are looking for creative members to brainstorm ways for our group to reach out to general contractors in the valley to attract new remodeling contractors.

We have numerous associate members that would benefit from additional remodeling contractors in our membership. These same members probably associate with more general contractors than any of our contractor members. You may have insight as to ways to attract more remodelers, or you may have a suggestion that can spark an idea that could make all the difference in our committee efforts.

All of us would like to receive more value from our membership with Greater Phoenix NARI. Experience has shown that everything has a season. I believe that this is our season for more of us to invest a small amount of time into creative endeavors that will bring great relationships and more financial benefit to us all.

I invite you to contact me or any of our chapter leaders for a conversation about how we can work together to accomplish the goals we all had when we joined Greater Phoenix NARI.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Contractror of the Year Awards 2012

If you are a contractor, which remodeling project(s) are you entering in the Greater Phoenix Contractor of the Year (CotY) 2012 Awards?

Last year 17 projects were entered into the CotY awards and the judges awarded 9 winners. There is only one winner per category. Several entries went on and competed nationally and received Regional awards. No small accomplishment. The Chapter has awarded CotY's for the past decade and each year the program experiences new growth with more projects being entered in more categories.

The first step is to select your project(s) and make sure that you have both before and after photographs, and formatted JPG/TIFF/SEC files to support both.   This is critical as the CotY Awards are a very visual competition. Think "first" impression. This is important locally but extremely important at the National level because of the volume of entries.

See what a difference this competition can make for your business by reviewing articles from Qualified Remodeler. Our own NARI website will feature our "Best of Show" and CotY Award winners are given special coverage within the site.   Go to www.greaterphoenixnari.org - Award Winning Projects - and see if your project has what it takes!

Call Scott Dow or George Brunell with any questions or to review previous year's notebooks from fellow NARI members.
